Quality Time: Vaping in the Early Spring Twilight

We vaped
in the early spring
twilight,

my adult daughter
and I.

Later
I opined,

"This is
quality time:
me talking to you
and you texting
on your phone."

In spite of
her treatment-resistant
depression,

she smiled
said "Yup,"

yielding
a drizzle of laughter.

  1. You have introduced me to the fine art of vaping! I, too, have discovered it's necessary to text to communicate with the younger generation!

  3. Many layers to this but I think you've said a lot in 44 words. Love the idea of "a drizzle of laughter".

  10. This is a really wonderful little vignette that is whimsical but says so much more than first the eye meets.

  15. Is this supposed to be as melancholy as it makes me feel, Mosk? You do win for best use of drizzle though.
