I feel that whether we do or don't have that experience has an impact, but it is also the quality of the connection (when feeding) that counts, as well as the quality of a myriad of other interactions with mother and others from then on.Cedarwindhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18038049847097780128noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12624992.post-39803925285200528712016-11-11T17:49:43.531-08:002016-11-11T17:49:43.531-08:00laughing. hmmm ~laughing. hmmm ~grapelinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14929030339206629628noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12624992.post-73685514368562029502016-11-11T10:04:07.766-08:002016-11-11T10:04:07.766-08:00Intriguing ideas played with here. My older children very much miss that freedom ... to connect in that way. ~Not that they'd literally want to do that now ... but in a way, they would. You win for having the correct interpretation...Yay! You win for having the correct interpretation. I believe breastfeeding is such an intimate expression of love and care, and I think the psychological effects are enormous. (In my quest to understand why I don't trust people's love of me and why I am so incredibly orally fixated, I have latched on - no pun intended- to this as a possible explanation.) Seriously, thank you - I feel understood and vindicated.Buddah Moskowitzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06839068145732552328noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12624992.post-67651297342048849132016-11-08T09:12:36.329-08:002016-11-08T09:12:36.329-08:00Thanks, I sense there's something real here. Thanks, I sense there's something real here. I think it...I don't think this is funny at all. I think it is very serious, a genuine, heartfelt expression of need. Boys (and girls) really do need their mommies, no matter how old they get. I am an extreme breastfeeder --- probably one of the very few American mothers who weans at age 3. So I completely get this poem ... especially that heartbreaking last line. So many women give up trying almost immediately because it's not easy. You'd think it'd be a "natural" (i.e., easy) endeavor, but it's not. It takes work to get both mommy and baby in groove/sync together. But it's so worth it, no matter how hard it is.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12624992.post-49127993071101251962016-11-08T04:34:04.093-08:002016-11-08T04:34:04.093-08:00Oh yes.. there has to be a reason.. why not this.Oh yes.. there has to be a reason.. why not this.brudberghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12563403553536472377noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12624992.post-72056505243674786202016-11-08T01:28:04.078-08:002016-11-08T01:28:04.078-08:00Love the sparkling wit and humor here, Mosk ❤️Love the sparkling wit and humor here, Mosk ❤️Sanaa Rizvihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06681404650477409830noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12624992.post-73902273481857788952016-11-08T00:36:12.900-08:002016-11-08T00:36:12.900-08:00Now that's different! Now that's different!Kim M.
