I'll Take Reality

I do not believe
in happy endings
or dreams coming true,
because nothing
ever really ends
and dreams
are not real.

However,
I believe in
spontaneous music,
idiomatic orgasms,
laughing pizza,
trusting puppies,
falling asleep
beside her,
her soft, sweet exhale:
these are real.

  1. I agree:
    'I believe in
    spontaneous music,
    idiomatic orgasms,
    laughing pizza,
    trusting puppies'
and I love the romance in the final lines.

  4. I admire your honesty here, and you are right - I don't think one of my dreams has ever come true either.
    I love your howevers' however.

  15. "her soft sweet exhale" is a reality to believe in, along with the laughing pizzas. Which pizzeria do you order from?
