Crow Talk

Two slick black crows
high up in the tree,
trade flat, nasally
calls:

not gossiping,
not sharing,
no mindless chatter,

just squawking enough
to hop to
the next branch,
confirm their plans
and zoom away,

confident
in their silent flight.

  2. Ha, their life is SO simple, isn't it, compared to ours?

...unless, of course, they're communicating deep things beyond human comprehension.

Nice little observation, though, either way... it's nice to imagine a simpler life.

  4. Nice! And we must have overheard the same conversation, 'cause I've got the photos to prove it! (Just wish I knew how to attach them here with your poem. LOL) :-)

    1. There was one crow who loved to sit on the edge of the roof of my building everyday just cawing and squawking - I named him Mussolini.

  5. What is it about crows? I have a poem about them too but mine are more sinister. I like this!

    1. Thanks, crows don't give a damn and that's what makes them admirable.
