I bought her
the book
on tidying
your house,
your mind,
your life.
"Look at every
object
and determine
if it
doesn't
spark joy,
throw it out."
I'm trying
not to read
too much
into her decision
to sleep
downstairs
last night.
Perhaps it had something to do with Cheetos and "Boys On The Side" showing on the late show?
ReplyDeleteCoulda been worse...at least you were still in the house right? ;)
ReplyDeleteYour writing is so sharp, Mosk. I love this!
ReplyDeleteLOL, I remember a friend "helpfully" giving me a book titled Women Who Do Too Much, when I was working three jobs to survive. Not helpful. This poem made me smile.
ReplyDeleteTo many scary possibilities... hope she can find joy
ReplyDeleteMaybe she threw herself out :P
ReplyDeleteI agree, this is crisp and perfect!
ReplyDeleteA moment brought to life
ReplyDeletevery funny. can't say i didn't see it coming though. ha ha. sorry
ReplyDeleteYes, I laughed out loud of course.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great book to me. She should read it.
ReplyDeleteSmile :)
ReplyDeleteLOL,
ReplyDeleteHaha! Love this. I always have to restrain myself from eye-rolling when people refer to that "if it doesn't bring you joy" line.
ReplyDeleteI am chortling so much...
ReplyDeleteOh please, get rid of that which serves no purpose, I fully agree.......
ReplyDeleteOops. Not the intended result, I'm sure, but a good practice anyway (simplifying).
ReplyDeleteHa! I love your humor. Definitely don't read too much into it!
ReplyDeleteAh... so enjoyed this. giggle
