The Un-Commented Upon Post

Inspiration wafted by
and grabbed imagination
by the collar
and they wrestled
and rode each other
naked and sweaty
until conception
was complete.

During gestation,
the second draft
brought needed
revisions
until finally,
this child,
their beautiful offspring
was ready.

Press “Publish”
and wait.

Every baby
in this nursery appears,
more or less,
the same,
and a hundred more
were born
since you started
reading this.

What did you expect?
It’s just a blog post.

It’s not like
you cured cancer.

  6. Fun, indeed. A creative account of the birth of an author's pride and joy--the difficulty of which, many writers do equate with the struggle to find a cure for cancer, just ask them.

  8. Often I see many 'views' of my poem but less than 10 responses...it's good to have a sense of humor about it and not take it too seriously.

  12. I'm just watching David Attenborough talking about the miracles of reproduction. Your poem fits in so well!

    1. Metaphorical babies, that is. That way you only have to change metaphorical diapers. Thanks.

  16. Oh my God..
    that's why i hate
    form poetry.. it's
    like birthing the
    same baby
    over and
    over again..
    ad nauseam..
    essence is cool..
    when Quantum
    mind is unleashed
    and released.. essence
    free of prison form hell..;)
