you wish to see in
the world”
says the self-assured
bumper sticker.
When I went
to check the attribution
of this quotation,
the New York Times
declared it
was not even a quote
from Gandhi.
So,
write the poem
only your days
have inhabited.
Sing the song
that threatens to
burst your heart
in ecstatic fantasia.
Make the movie
and give light to
the madness and serenity
of your dreams.
Create what
no one else can,
sign your name,
then go create
some more.
“Be the creation that only you can summon.” – Buddah Moskowitz
Live your dreams.. nice!
ReplyDeleteOh, YES.
ReplyDeleteThis:
"write the poem
only your days
have inhabited."
then go create
ReplyDeletesome more...... I at least am doing that and it helps me if no one else. Like your message
I'm with you on this one. "Be the originality you wish to see in the world."
ReplyDeleteAnd write the quote that some may falsely attribute to Ghandi one day, because it is that good.
ReplyDeleteCreate what no one else can... ah yes :D lovely write.
ReplyDeleteI so love this! Especially your quote!

ReplyDeleteExcellent sentiment. Especially like these phrases: "sing the song" and "make the movie and give light to the madness and serenity of your dreams."
ReplyDeleteOne thing, linking up with dVerse (and we're very pleased to have you!), today's Poetics prompt is to include the word fantasy/fantasia/phantasia/fancy within either the body of the poem or the title. I don't see that here? Perhaps you could adjust a bit so the prompt is apparent? If not....we do have an open mic night on Thursdays when folks can post any poem they wish -- no prompts on that night. Hope to see you again!
Love the part of:
ReplyDeleteSing the song
that threatens to
burst your heart
in ecstatic fantasia.
Very inspiring to read Mosk ~ Thanks for joining us ~
A most inspiring read. Toni Spencer is linked as Kanzensakura
ReplyDeleteYes, we must be the creation, Mosk!! We each can bring something beautiful into the world.
ReplyDeleteIsn't that interesting...not even Gandhi's quote. And let me just add, always do your own research when using a quote by someone. There is so much out there that is inaccurate. I especially love:
ReplyDelete"So, write the poem
only your days
have inhabited.
Sing the song
that threatens to
burst your heart
in ecstatic"
A call to everyone to be creative, and written by be who is :-)
ReplyDeleteGood advice as long as you enjoy the solo kayaking experience of the river journey through life.
ReplyDeleteyou have inspired the creative fantasy in each of us
ReplyDeleteOh be that creative force. With or without bumper sticker or Ghandi.. (Can I get your quote on a sticker? )
ReplyDeleteCreate, sign, create..love that.
ReplyDeleteThat's a philosophical poem to spark more poetry in us. Lovely.
ReplyDeleteOh, what a beauty! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI want this bumpersticker on my coffin. Something to sing while I'm decomposing. Bringing something beautiful into the netherworld.
ReplyDeleteThis made me grin huge. I'd totally have your version of the bumper sticker!
ReplyDeleteA creative's dream sandwiched between two fabulous quotes...write on!
ReplyDeleteThis is great!
ReplyDeleteLike others, I'm in love with these lines:
ReplyDelete"write the poem
only your days
have inhabited."
Just amazing, all through. A powerful message in support of originality and creation.
Pen who you are... Lovely sense of identity in this poem.
ReplyDeletehad to look that up. i'll be damned. so much for my facebook quote.
ReplyDeletei may steal yours... :) ~
