The Dusky Pink Rose

The dusky pink rose
promises divinity,
simplicity,
humility.

Unaware of her
fate,
she represents
all that is
beautiful and perfect
in this world.

If you
cannot see her,
breathe in
her soft perfume.

To swim in her
velvet petals,
is to be
forever changed.

  1. The image of swimming in the petals, in a non-literal sense, is marvelous. Nice use of symbolic images here!

Love the last line... goodness does change us when we experience it fully.

  12. lovely! The rose may only bloom for a short while, but does not worry about its end...rather blooms gloriously while it is here! We could all take a lesson by swimming in her petals!

  19. You show how those roses are such a powerful symbol--really recognized universally in many, if not all cultures.
